Bhutan is the best kept example of cultural authenticity. Tradition is maintained for ages and even today a gho (for men) and a kira (for women) is the normal atire. Tourism to this Kindom at the foothills of the Himalaya's started less than four decades ago. Thus Bhutan has preserved it's rich cultural identity throughout years of isolation. The country's strategy of "low volume, high quality tourism" has made it a highly regarded destination among discerning travelers.
