Day 1 Sept. 8

Bangkok-Paro(2,280m)-Thimphu (2,320m)

- On board Druk Air ( Royal Bhutan airline ) to Paro

- 1.5 Hours drive Thimphu

- Thimphu –The capital city of Bhutan

- Walking Tour Start at Clock tower Square

- Weekend Market (Sat & Sun)

- Changmlimithang Archey Field

- Budhha Viewpoint

- Trashi Chhoe Dzong/Fortress built in 17th century

-Evening Tea

Day 2 Sept. 9

Thimphu

- National Memorial Chorten built in 1974 in memory of Late His Majesty the third king of Bhutan.

- Thirteen traditional art and craft school–The Painting School

-National Textile Museum

- Takin Preserve –See the national animal of Bhutan-Takin

- National Library

- Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory

- National Institute of Traditional Medicine

-Evening Tea

Day 3 Sept. 10

Thimphu-Punakha (1,300m)(Drive take 3 hours)

-Visit Semtokha Dzong,  the oldest Fortress in Bhutan built in 1629 by Zhabdrung Rimpoche

- Dochula Pass (3050m) one of the most beautiful pass among all the passes in Bhutan.

- Enjoy beautiful view of the Himalaya

- 108 Bhutanese Stupas

-Visit Druk wangyel chorten dedicated to His Majesty the forth King Jigme singye wangchuck

-Lunch will be serve on the pass with beautiful view of Nature and Himalaya

-  Visit Botanical park and hike around small lake

-Stop against valley view for short walk to stretch our legs

-Evening Tea

-Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

Day 4 Sept. 11

Punakha Magnificent valley sightseeing

- Punakha Dzong is one of the most magnificent and scenic fortress in Bhutan, it’s a second oldest Dzong

- Hike to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten/temple. It’s easy and short hike through the rice field and farm houses, be prepare with your camera for amazing views.(1.5hours)

-Hike to Chimi lhakhang or temple of fertility: Another beautiful hike through farm houses and rice field.  This popular hike is mostly made by many young couples who don’t conceive baby after long marriage

-Evening Tea

-Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

Day 5 Sept. 12

Punakha-Wangdue phodrang- Trongsa (Drive takes 5.5 hours)

- Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, it is third oldest Dzong

- Drive to Pelala pass, enjoy the pristine environment and waterfall

- Lunch at Nobding/Chendebji

-Stop at Chendebji chorten/stupa built in 18th century

-Evening Tea

-Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

Day 6 Sept. 13

Trongsa-Bumthang ( Drive take 3 hours)

-  Visit Trongsa Dzong, the ancestral home of the Royal family

-Visit watch tower of Trongsa

-Lunch at watch Tower with view of Dzong below.

- Drive to Bumthang

- Visit chummy textile weaving centre woven by yak hair and sheep wool 

- Wangdichholing Palace

Day 7 Sept.14

Bumthang Tamshing Festival

At this Tamshing Festival, Mask Dances are performed by both monks and lay person in brilliant costumes re-enacting the legendary events, accompanied by blaring horns, booming drums, and clashing cymbals as they whirl and leap around the courtyard. During the intervals, young women in their best of dress perform the folk dances that they believe is another way of offering which enables them to receive blessings and earn good karma.

- Membarstho-The Burning Lake

- Visit Wangdichholing Palace, the house of the first and second king of Bhutan

- Jampey Lhakhang built in 7thcentury before Buddhism came to Bhutan

- Kurjey Lhakhang built in 8th century, Buddhism arrive in 8thcentury

- Walk to Tamshing Goemba built in 15th century by treasure discoverer

- Visit Swiss farm near the domestic airport.

-walk around the town for shopping

Day 8 Sept. 15

Bumthang- Wangdue Phodrang (Drive takes 8-9 hours)

- 8 Hours Drive to Wangdiphodrang via Trongsa

- Lunch at Chendebji

- Passing by local valleys

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

Day 9 Sept. 16

Wangdue Phodrang -Thimphu-Paro (Drive takes 5.5hours)

- 5.5 Hours drive to Paro passing by paddy fields,  dochula pass, apple orchards, farmhouses, pine trees and small hamlets

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

Day 10 Sept. 17

Paro

- Visit National museum

-Visit Paro Dzong

-Walk to old traditional bridge

-Lunch in Paro town

-Walk for shopping

-Drugyel Dzong/Fortress

-Evening Tea

-Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

Day 11 Sept. 18

Paro valley: spiritual day excursion to Tiger Nest. (7hours total round trip)

- Hike toTaktsang Goemba-Tiger’s Nest  take 7hours including photo stop and lunch at Cafeteria

-800m climb from valley floor

-Moderate-hard, drink lots of water

-carry enough water

-Riding ponies are available at their own cost

-1 hour to first view point, where there is cafeteria, you will be serve tea/coffee with a view of the monastery

-Reach to second view point, be careful with steep steps

-Beautiful photo stop

-No camera, mobile and bags are allowed inside monastery

- walk back for lunch to cafeteria

- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

Day 12 Sept. 19

Paro-Bangkok-Malaysia

DrukAir departs early, after breakfast, your guide and driver will see you off at the airport. You need to check in two hours before departure.
